Bright Morningstar Kitchen:

Bright Morningstar Kitchen: Berkshire County’s only restaurant-style soup kitchen! “The Bright Morningstar Kitchen” is a unique soup kitchen found in the heart of Berkshire County, that has restaurant-style dining. Residents can come together in an inviting, comfortable atmosphere and enjoy a 3 course meal of their choice completely free of cost.

Beyond being a meal site, this program also provides workforce development training tailored to the regional hospitality industry, providing neighborhood residents with hands-on experience and real- life skills needed to enter the workforce.

The kitchen also provides a space for residents to learn cooking and nutrition skills that encourage long-term health and wellness. It also acts as a multiple function community space, providing space for educational programming, cooking workshops, demonstrations, and food events. This helps strengthen and build food security leading to a healthier and economically stronger neighborhood and community.

Help For the Homeless

All throughout the week we help meet the needs of those who are homeless. Our men’s recovery home just opened up this fall and  has now made the Berkshire Dream Center open 24/7! This program is fully committed to helping participants overcome any life controlling issue and is a faith based ministry.  Those within this free program will learn the tools and skills needed that will help them build a positive future of sobriety. Currently, we still have some openings within the program and applications are being accepted. This is a year long program, and those who are accepted have food, housing, and clothing provided so that  they are able to fully focus on building a strong foundation for their next step in life. If you would like more information,  please contact Joseph Rhoades, the Program Director at 413-329-1617.

-Annual Back to School Giveaway! (This year we had over 600 people in attendance)

-Miracle At Morningside (Annual sponsorship of our local elementary school to provide every child with a present for Christmas. This is around 375 children! More details will be given after Thanksgiving)

-Easter Celebration (We celebrate by inviting children of our community to come to our Easter Service with activities, a lesson, a visit from the Easter bunny and an Easter egg hunt!)

-Thanksgiving Dinner at the Dream Center (Please see our special Thanksgiving page for more program information!)

Berkshire Hope House

Every year, there are minors who are recovered from human trafficking in Berkshire County. After they are recovered, the question is “What’s next?” The answer is, HOPE!

We are excited to share that the “Berkshire Hope House” is in the process of opening and will provide an answer to that very question. The “Berkshire Hope House” will be a place where children can find hope and healing in their recovery process. This will be a safe place for them to be and one that they can call their own.

The “Hope House” will be the first of its kind in Berkshire County with an incredible collaborative team at the heart of it all. Those that are on this team have already been in the fight against the trafficking of children and have extensive experience. The Berkshire Dream Center is honored to join this incredible network and be one piece of the wheel that’s already moving forward by providing the building for this important mission to take place.
