Mobile Food Pantry
We are so excited to tell you that we have completely paid for the Mobile Food Pantry truck with the support of Morningside Up! Morningside Up is a project of Alchemy Initiative and The City of Pittsfield, with funding from The Kresge Foundation, and aims to use food as a creative platform to revitalize our neighborhood!!
WHY A MOBILE FOOD PANTRY?
While serving the community for the past eight years, we became aware of the need for food accessibility here in Berkshire County. The Mobile Food Pantry seeks to help meet that need by providing healthy, well balanced meal selections for local residents to enjoy and provide for their family.
The Berkshire Dream Center Mobile Food Pantry is the only mobile food pantry in the cities of Pittsfield and North Adams.
The Mobile Food Pantry distributes food to those in need on a weekly basis. We currently have eight sites between the cities of Pittsfield and North Adams that we visit once a month. As food donations and community partnerships continue to grow, we hope to adopt more sites and increase our frequency at our current locations to have a greater impact with addressing food insecurity.
There are no requirements needed to receive food from our Mobile Pantry. Those who come just need to fill out their information and choose from a list of items available that evening.
